Leigh "In C" – A Musical Adventure Awaits!

Leigh Folk Festival is thrilled to present something truly extraordinary this year! In celebration of Terry Riley's 90th birthday, we’re hosting an open-session performance of his groundbreaking piece, "In C"—and YOU are invited to be part of it!

 When: Sunday, June 29th at 2:30pm

 Where: St Clement’s Church

What: A spontaneous, one-off musical journey featuring 53 melodic fragments

 No rehearsal needed—just bring your instrument and join in! 

 Every performance is completely unique, shaped by the moment

 Experience the magic of a sing-around session like never before

 A chance to connect with fellow musicians in a joyful, experimental exchange

Want to play?

Bring any acoustic instrument you love—fiddles, flutes, guitars, penny whistles, and more! Emma Reed (Culture as a Dare, Lost Harbours, Pettaluck) will introduce the piece before we begin.
