Help make #LFF23 happen, Volunteer with us

Our volunteer team is an integral part of Leigh Folk Festival, with an unprecedented number of volunteers coming on board to undertake a range of roles.

As our amazing free festival grows, so we need more volunteers to keep it fun, raise funds and make it safe. Roles vary – everything from site build and break, artist support, selling merchandise and collecting donations, running information points, stewarding audiences, traffic management, production runners, tech support and photography to the less-than-glamorous but vital task of litter-picking…the list goes on!

While the majority of volunteer roles fall during the festival weekend some assistance is needed in the days leading up to the festival and days after.

On average shifts are around four hours, but you’re of course welcome to join us for more.

Please note: under 18s can only volunteer with the support of a parent/guardian/carer on any specific shift. This is due to safeguarding requirements.

Other Ways to get involved

  • Trading

Each year we hand-select a range of independent makers, traders, and catering concessions. Applications trade at this year’s event as part of our makers market are now open until 31st March. Pitches can be applied for here. Applications for food concessions have now closed with all pitches now full.

  • Sponsorship

As a registered arts and community charity run by volunteers, our partners and sponsors are what bring Leigh Folk Festival (and our other events!) to life. We have a range of packages to support brands and businesses to reach new and diverse audiences, with exposure, complimentary tickets and hospitality packages available in return for your support.

  • Performers

We are no longer accepting enquiries to perform at Leigh Folk Festival 2023. Leigh Folk Festival has a broad church programme, and while we can’t reply to every enquiry - if you or an artist you represent is interested in performing in 2024, please contact us from July onwards.

  • Workshops & activities

Have a workshop or activity that you could deliver at Leigh Folk Festival? Make, learn, do, create, design, write, inspire… we’re always looking for great interactive and inclusive activities for families, children and all-ages. Have something you think we could host? Reach us on the contact page.

  • Open Mic Competition

Applications are open to anyone who would like to perform at the Competition. 14 performers from a variety of musical backgrounds will play for a place in the final four. From there, a winner will be chosen and given a spot on one of the main stages. to enter email openmic@leighfolkfestival.com
